On November 18, 2021, Figure Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of EA , was invited to participate in the Gasgoo China Automotive Intelligent Chassis Conference 2021. Dong Miaojing, the chief engineer of Figure Technology Development, unveiled the smart wire-controlled chassis for autonomous driving above L4 level.

As a new generation of chassis system, the EA 4.0 smart Chassis-By-Wire fully integrates five core executive systems: Brake-By-Wire, Steer-By-Wire, Suspension-By-Wire, Throttle-By-Wire and Shift-By-Wire. Completely abandon the mechanical structure between the manipulation to the actuator, and use the internal electrical signal of the system for transmission, which can achieve complete human-machine decoupling. Achieve a "smart" performance of one brain that coordinates five major systems to achieve six degrees of freedom control. To achieve fully automated driving, Brake-By-Wire and Steer-By-Wire are the core and most difficult execution systems to overcome.

Different from the EHB line control system of the hydraulic system, the matching brake system (EMB) in EA4.0 cancels the hydraulic pipeline, uses wires to transmit energy, and data wires transmit signals. It can achieve higher control accuracy while reducing weight, faster response speed. At the same time, EMB "combines the functions of the ibooster, ESC, EPB brake caliper and brake tubing in the traditional EHB brake-by-wire system into one," making the overall structure simpler and reliable in function.
